Serene: Jerry Dugger is a world-class musician who's played in legendary NYC bands like Joey Miserable and the Worms and The Mighty Sweetones and I was lucky to have him as a bandmate of mine in The Holiday Slides for a god while. He has toured the world with his own band and under the alias of Slapmeat Johnson.
As a descendant of Paul Robeson, he is also the possessor of a deep baritone which I was lucky to feature in two phantom group recordings, this one and The Egregious Brothers and SIster Hill number (see track 8).
This inventory of all things tight is a send up of "Tighten Up" by Archie Bell and The Drells. The band gets namechecked as a qualifier of "tight" also. This was the first "official" Onus SIngle of the Weekend

"Of all the initial acts signed to the Onus Records label, none evinces more fervent civic pride for the area of Sunnyslope than Wes and the Westdales, three brothers who in truth are closer to West Glendale (hence their band name). But since the boys' Aunt Inger lives on the cusp of Moon Valley, that was good enough.
Weston Geiger and his two brothers Preston and Reynold are second-generation Swede shouters who had been reared on a steady diet of black mass death metal since birth. Possibly even before that.
One fateful day when Wes found himself choking on a chicken neck, his brother Preston heard something of Wilson Pickett in his brother's struggle to survive. "It was a defining moment," says Preston. "It could've gone death metal or R&B right there."
It was up to brother Reynold to save his sibling's life. You can hear both Wes and "soft-spoken member of the group" Reynold switch off lead vocals on their debut single for Onus, "Tightening Your Grip on Me."
